Sometimes, when you least expect it God puts you in the place you were meant to be.

Sitting in the emergency room at 30 years old finding out he was having a panic attack, Toby Boyce knew something had to change.

It was a chance meeting with the real estate broker who sold him his house that led him to resign from his job and go into real estate full-time. The plan wasn’t for it to be more than a year or two as he identified the next step in his writing and public relations career.

That was in 2006 and he never left in 2014 he became a real estate broker. Running C.G. Boyce Real Estate Co. from 2015-2021 when he partnered with Coldwell Banker Realty to bring the iconic franchise back to Delaware.

Toby has shifted his focus from residential to commercial after a friend wasn’t getting serviced by local commercial agents. Toby found his love of numbers and putting the deal together was welcome in commercial real estate.

During his career, Toby has earned several designations including the Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource (SFR); Certified Real Estate Mentor (CREM); Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI); and several other certificates.

The Danville, Ohio, native graduated from University of Mount Union with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus on marketing and earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Heidelberg University in 2003.

He is married to Gretchen and the couple has one daughter, Olivia, and resides in Delaware, Ohio.

During his free time, Toby enjoys playing Strat-O-Matic sports including the Retro Strat-O-Matic Football League’s Oorang Indians; writing; and spending quiet time with his wife and daughter.

Giving Back

Toby makes it a policy to donate a percentage of every closing to a non-profit of the organization’s choice. Recent recipients include:

  • Family Promise
  • Press Church

It is only through local support that we can make our communities better.

In the Community

We have donated our time over the years to various causes. Serving on the board of directors for the non-profit Women’s City Club Foundation and Deaf World Against Violence Everywhere in the past 15 years.

Additionally, Toby served on the Delaware County General Health District’s Community Health Assessment which created a plan of attack for the Health District into the future.

In the Industry

Toby has also been active within the real estate community. He has served as a board director – even secretary of the board – for the Delaware County Board of REALTORS. He has additionally, served on various committees for Ohio REALTORS culminating in serving as chair for the Communications committee. He has also served on several committees for the National Association of REALTORS.

He is also serving as the president for the Ohio Commercial Real Estate Exchangors after serving as vice president and recorder for several years.
